SIP Trunking
Signaling protocol used to offer Internet based local and long distance service that can be directly connected into a phone system
A Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunk is a service offered by an ITSP (Internet Telephony Service Provider) that permits businesses to use Voice-over-IP while utilizing their own PBX equipment. SIP trunks can offer a substantial savings, both in incremental costs per minute as well as overall trunk costs, versus the traditional PRI. SIP trunks can be deployed over new or existing internet connections. VoIP Interoperability is the key to a successful SIP trunking deployment.
